While the scholarship covered the initial franchise fee, the path to ownership remained rigorous. Wright underwent the same vetting process as any veteran entrepreneur, reviewing the company’s legal disclosures and training at their Tampa headquarters. He further prepared by shadowing established franchise owners in Michigan and networking with local leaders in Bloomington.
Wright, who studies entrepreneurship and corporate innovation at the Kelley School of Business, intends to launch the operation before his 2027 graduation. He is currently documenting the unfiltered realities of his startup journey on social media, aiming to highlight the challenges of building a business while still completing his degree. Beyond the logistics of moving and junk removal, Wright emphasizes a desire to focus on community impact and job creation within the city.
