General Medicine Secures $120 Million to Expand Healthcare Marketplace

San Francisco-based General Medicine has raised $120 million in a Series B funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz, pushing the company’s total capitalization to $152 million. The startup operates a nationwide digital storefront that allows patients to compare prices and purchase medical services, including lab work and specialist consults.

General Medicine Secures $120 Million to Expand Healthcare Marketplace

Since its nationwide launch in May 2025, the platform has sought to simplify the patient experience by organizing services around specific health needs rather than rigid institutional structures. With over 2,900 offerings in its catalog, the company provides upfront pricing for both insured and cash-paying customers. Internal data indicates that 83% of users utilized the service to address health concerns they had previously delayed, often for more than six months.

The fresh capital will be directed toward expanding the breadth of care categories available on the platform. CEO TJ Parker noted that while the market is saturated with AI-driven health advice, the industry lacks the practical infrastructure to execute care. The company’s model integrates a user's health history—spanning an average of 11 years—into a prioritized summary for clinicians to ensure continuity of care across various services. Despite the platform’s digital-first approach, leadership emphasizes that clinical decisions remain independent of commercial or investor relationships.
