Inventory for pre-owned jets rose 5.07% in September, though the segment remains 23.58% leaner than it was last year. Large-cabin jets continue to see the most significant year-over-year contraction, dropping nearly 40%. Despite the influx of available airframes, asking prices for jets climbed 2.02% month-over-month, with super-midsize models showing the most notable growth in both availability and valuation.

Used Jet and Turboprop Inventories Rise as Aviation Market Stabilizes
September aviation data from Sandhills Global reveals a month-over-month increase in pre-owned jet and turboprop inventories. While supply levels remain significantly below year-ago figures, the uptick across major segments suggests a cooling, stabilizing market rather than a rapid acceleration of buying or selling activity.

Turboprop and Robinson piston helicopter markets mirrored this sideways trend. Turboprop inventory grew 3.46% last month, while Robinson helicopter supply increased 3.53%. For piston-single aircraft across the U.S. and Canada, inventory remained effectively flat, yet asking values dipped 0.74%. Controller manager Terrin Mohl noted that while jet supply is growing, high-demand aircraft continue to sell quickly, indicating that the broader aviation sector is finding a new equilibrium after a period of volatility.
