LG CNS Debuts Pharma-Focused AI Manufacturing Suite at CPHI Milan

With roughly 60,000 visitors converging on Milan for the flagship CPHI exhibition, LG CNS is positioning its AI-driven smart factory solutions as the new standard for pharmaceutical production. The Seoul-based company stands as the sole Korean representative in the event's dedicated AI & Tech zone this year.

LG CNS Debuts Pharma-Focused AI Manufacturing Suite at CPHI Milan

LG CNS is targeting the complex requirements of drug manufacturing by integrating three core technologies under its "Autonomous Factory in Pharma" banner. The strategy covers the entire lifecycle of a production facility, from initial architectural design to ongoing quality assurance. By applying digital twin technology through its Factova Worldworks platform, the firm allows developers to simulate cleanroom layouts and worker movement in 3D, minimizing contamination risks before a single brick is laid.

Operational consistency is handled by Factova Control, which standardizes disparate process data and monitors equipment health in real time. By analyzing electrical currents and vibration patterns, the system flags potential failures before they disrupt production. Perhaps most significantly for regulatory compliance, LG CNS has introduced an AI agent capable of drafting Annual Product Quality Reviews. This task, which historically required months of manual data collection to satisfy Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, can now be completed with a 90% reduction in time.

Eddie Jang, head of the company's Chemical/Battery Division, stated that these solutions are designed to handle the extreme precision required in pharmaceutical environments. By acting as a turnkey provider, LG CNS aims to move beyond standard automation, offering a fully intelligent framework that proactively corrects production anomalies to prevent defective output.
