The new platform combines the MediaTek T930 and Filogic 8800 to push performance boundaries for telecom operators. By utilizing 8Rx 3CC technology, the T930 improves downlink throughput by more than 40% while simultaneously extending network coverage. On the transmission side, the combination of HPUE PC1 and 3Tx 5L increases power by 5 dB, resulting in a 70% boost in uplink throughput. These hardware gains are designed to help providers serve more subscribers while managing the costs associated with core network upgrades.

MediaTek Debuts 5G-Advanced FWA Platform at Network X 2026
MediaTek and its subsidiary Airoha Technology are unveiling a next-generation Fixed Wireless Access platform at Network X 2026 in Vienna. The solution integrates the T930 modem with Wi-Fi 8 and Edge AI, promising a substantial leap in bidirectional throughput to address the growing demands of cloud gaming and high-bandwidth applications.

Beyond raw speed, MediaTek is emphasizing intelligence at the network edge through its AI-AQM technology. By moving queue management directly to the CPE, the system achieves up to a 10x reduction in latency for cloud gaming and other time-sensitive services. Evan Su, vice president of MediaTek’s wireless business, noted that the platform aims to balance increased capacity with improved in-home connectivity to maximize commercial value for operators. The solution is currently shortlisted for the Best FWA Solution of the Year at the Network X Awards.
