The collaboration leverages Marathon Health’s established care model, which integrates in-person and virtual services to provide chronic condition management and mental health support. According to the company, this approach has historically resulted in 15% fewer emergency room visits and 41% fewer inpatient admissions among its patient base. By focusing on early intervention, the partnership aims to shift the focus from reactive, high-cost treatment to consistent preventive care.

Centene and Marathon Health Partner on Primary Care in Indiana and Missouri
Beginning in 2027, Ambetter Health Solutions members in select Indiana and Missouri counties will gain access to $0 primary care visits, lab services, and virtual consultations. The initiative, facilitated through CHOICE Arrangements, seeks to remove financial barriers to routine medical care and foster long-term patient-provider relationships.

Alan Silver, President of Ambetter Health Solutions, noted that the model provides employers with flexible options while ensuring members receive the support necessary to manage their health over time. Ryan Jacobs, Senior Vice President at Marathon Health, emphasized that the goal is to eliminate the complications that often cause individuals to delay seeking medical attention. Eligible members are expected to receive detailed enrollment and service information ahead of the 2027 plan year.
