The initiative centers on embedding Claude Managed Agents directly into the Webex environment, allowing teams to execute multi-step tasks without toggling between third-party applications. These agents can be invited into virtual spaces to perform complex actions, such as pulling real-time analytics and updating presentation files through natural language commands. Jeetu Patel, Cisco’s Chief Product Officer, emphasized that the goal is to move beyond simple prompt-based assistance, focusing instead on agents that share deep enterprise context and operate on a secure, governed foundation.

Cisco pivots Webex toward agentic AI workflows
At the WebexOne 2026 conference in Austin, Cisco unveiled a suite of agentic collaboration tools designed to transition enterprise AI from reactive chatbots into proactive digital teammates. The platform aims to integrate human staff with autonomous agents, unifying data across workspaces, physical offices, and customer service channels.

Cisco is also reshaping the physical office through RoomOS 27, which introduces native interoperability with Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom. Beyond hardware flexibility, the update brings edge-based AI capable of adjusting room environments, such as lighting and temperature, based on voice prompts. For customer experience, the new 'Dialog' harness enables agents to manage long-horizon tasks, maintaining persistent relationship context across interactions until an issue is fully resolved. These tools are supported by Cisco’s existing security and observability infrastructure, including Splunk integration, to ensure that autonomous actions remain within corporate safety guardrails.
