The facility will focus on patients recovering from strokes, brain and spinal injuries, hip fractures, and complex medical conditions like multiple sclerosis. CEO Michael Warrington noted that providing care closer to home helps patients maintain essential support systems during their transition from acute care. The hospital will feature private rooms, a dedicated therapeutic courtyard, and an activities area modeled after home living conditions to assist in regaining daily independence.

ClearSky Health Expands to North Carolina with 36-Bed Rehabilitation Facility
In Smithfield, North Carolina, ClearSky Health is launching a 45,000-square-foot medical rehabilitation hospital designed to serve 650 patients annually. The project, which will create roughly 100 local jobs, marks the provider’s entry into the state as part of a broader national expansion strategy.

An interdisciplinary team, including physicians, physical therapists, and case managers, will staff the center. This North Carolina site is one of several new developments for ClearSky Health, which currently operates 15 hospitals across seven states. Once the Smithfield location opens, the company’s total footprint will grow to 20 facilities nationwide, reflecting a continued push to integrate specialized rehabilitation into regional healthcare networks.
