The Galien Foundation Marks Two Decades of Medical Innovation

The Galien Foundation is set to host its 2026 Galien Week of Innovation from October 26 to 29 in New York City, marking the 20th anniversary of the Prix Galien USA. The milestone event gathers global leaders to evaluate 215 breakthrough products across eight therapeutic categories.

Under the theme "Legacy & Leap," the four-day program transitions from virtual nominee showcases to in-person summits. The New York Academy of Medicine will host the Galien Forum and the Patient Summit on October 29, serving as a hub for Nobel Laureates, policymakers, and industry executives to discuss the future of biopharmaceutical progress. The week concludes that evening with the 20th Annual Prix Galien USA & International Awards Ceremony at the American Museum of Natural History.

This year’s edition introduces the Galien Patient First Award in honor of Michael J. Fox, a new distinction recognizing excellence in patient-centered research and clinical care. The foundation, established in 1970, continues to evaluate nominees through an awards committee comprised of top biomedical scientists and academics. As the organization expands its footprint into China, Singapore, and Australia, the 2026 event serves to bridge the gap between historical medical milestones and the next generation of life-saving technologies.
