Pret A Manger Transforms Union Square Cafe into an After-Hours Club

A red carpet and a live DJ will replace the usual morning rush at Pret A Manger’s Union Square location on October 23. The sandwich chain is hosting a one-night-only party at its 857 Broadway shop to celebrate the relaunch of Club Pret, its monthly beverage subscription service.

The event, running from 6 to 9 p.m. ET, features espresso and matcha martinis alongside the unveiling of a new mural by New York street artist Frank Ape. Attendees who are active subscribers can claim a limited-edition tote bag signed by the artist, with five bags hiding a golden key for a free year of membership. The promotion arrives as the chain boosts the value of its subscription, which provides up to five barista-made drinks daily, including organic coffees and newly added matcha options, for $50 a month.

Felipe Athayde, President of North America for Pret A Manger, noted that the company wanted to mark the subscription’s expanded perks—which now include 20% off the entire food menu and unlimited customizations—with a celebration that mirrors the club branding. Beyond the party, the brand is pushing its loyalty program with an introductory offer of one month free for new members, aiming to integrate its coffee ritual more deeply into the daily habits of its urban customer base.
