During the upcoming trials, government assessors will scrutinize the Hunter WOLF’s operational readiness, technology maturity, and its ability to function across different domains. Tom Van Doren, President of BLADE’s Robotics Sector, emphasized that the platform is already a mature system, having undergone testing in demanding environments and seeing service in Ukraine.

BLADE Advances Hunter WOLF to GroundBreaker 1 Live Trials
The U.S. government has tapped HDT Robotics, operating as BLADE, to move its Hunter WOLF platform into the second phase of the GroundBreaker 1 demonstration. This selection triggers a high-stakes series of live hardware tests scheduled for October 19-23 at Camp Grafton, North Dakota, following a rigorous evaluation of the company's initial technical proposal.

The vehicle features an adaptable architecture intended to minimize soldier workload while expanding reach in austere conditions. Its capabilities cover a range of tactical needs, from logistics and reconnaissance to casualty evacuation. BLADE designed the system to operate autonomously or via remote control, maintaining high payload capacity and off-road mobility. Success in this phase may lead to a Phase III invitation, where the company could compete for a Prototype Other Transaction Authority award as the Department of War accelerates the integration of robotic systems into frontline operations.
