Skanska Secures $136 Million Northeast Railroad Contract

A fresh $136 million contract has tasked Skanska with major infrastructure improvements across the northeastern United States. The deal, valued at approximately 1.3 billion Swedish kronor, bolsters the firm’s regional footprint as it begins an extensive three-year overhaul of existing rail lines for an undisclosed public client.

Construction crews have already broken ground on the site, marking the start of a project scheduled for completion in December 2029. The contract value will be officially recorded in the company’s third-quarter order bookings for 2026. This project underscores the firm's continued role in regional transit upgrades, focusing on modernization efforts that aim to enhance the reliability and efficiency of the existing northeastern corridor rail network.
