MEXC and Kraken’s Parent Company Plot Closer Integration

At the TOKEN2049 conference in Singapore, executives from MEXC and Payward—the parent company of Kraken—outlined a vision for a unified trading future where digital assets and traditional finance merge into a singular, around-the-clock ecosystem driven by retail demand and strategic cross-platform partnerships.

MEXC and Kraken’s Parent Company Plot Closer Integration

MEXC CEO Vugar Usi Zade and Payward Co-CEO Arjun Sethi argued that the rigid trading hours of legacy systems are becoming obsolete. As blockchain infrastructure matures, the industry is moving toward a model where users can navigate disparate asset classes through a seamless interface. According to Zade, the next five years will see a consolidation of these services, with retail investors acting as the primary catalyst for this shift.

The challenge of this evolution lies in liquidity and collateral management. Sethi emphasized that 24/7 trading requires a backend capable of consolidating global assets into a single, accessible environment. To achieve this scale, the executives are moving away from a competitive mindset, favoring a collaborative approach where platforms leverage each other’s regional and technical strengths. MEXC contributes a retail-focused liquidity model and experience in perpetual markets, while Payward offers established U.S. market expertise and professional-grade financial infrastructure.

Both companies are currently exploring initiatives centered on market access and distribution. This partnership signals a broader industry trend where trust and transparency are treated as the essential bedrock for connecting decentralized finance with global institutional standards.
