The collaboration combines AnySignal’s expertise in software-defined radio and terrestrial network orchestration with Andrenam’s established maritime infrastructure. By integrating AnySignal’s communications stack with Andrenam’s PEARL buoy network and OBSIDIAN software, the companies intend to create an architecture that transmits data from underwater vehicles directly to orbiting satellites.

AnySignal and Andrenam Partner for Seabed-to-Space Connectivity
Los Angeles-based firms AnySignal and Andrenam are building a new family of underwater acoustic modems, aiming to bridge the gap between deep-sea sensors and global satellite networks. The partnership, announced October 9, targets initial product shipments by the first half of 2027 to serve government and commercial maritime sectors.

John Malsbury, CEO of AnySignal, noted that the project leverages his company's proven flight-grade technology to address the specific challenges of sub-sea operations. For Andrenam, the partnership addresses a critical industry failure: the persistent difficulty of extracting data from underwater sensors in real-time. The resulting modems will be made available for third-party integration, moving beyond the proprietary use of either firm's existing platforms. This rollout represents the first phase of a wider technical roadmap intended to support distributed maritime sensing, electronic warfare, and intelligence gathering across multiple domains.
