The acquisition of Ardley follows a rapid expansion strategy by PLACE, which recently integrated Maxwell, Remine, and Envoy Mortgage into its ecosystem. By layering Ardley’s precision-targeting software over its existing infrastructure, PLACE intends to help financial institutions minimize customer churn. Ardley’s technology identifies opportunities within existing loan portfolios, such as second mortgages or lines of credit, preventing the common industry issue of losing clients during refinance cycles.

PLACE Acquires Ardley to Build Unified Mortgage Operating System
Bellingham-based real estate unicorn PLACE has reached an agreement to acquire Ardley, an AI-driven platform specializing in automated loan recapture and customer retention. The move targets the mortgage industry’s fragmented infrastructure, aiming to consolidate borrower acquisition, origination, and portfolio intelligence into a single, cohesive operating system for lenders.

This integration builds upon an existing partnership between Ardley and Maxwell, the latter of which PLACE acquired in September 2026. With Maxwell facilitating over $130 billion in annual transactions and both firms having touched nearly one in ten U.S. mortgage originations in 2025, the consolidation provides PLACE with significant market scale. Nathan Den Herder, founder and CEO of Ardley, noted that the merger allows his platform to pair its portfolio intelligence with the broader technological reach of the PLACE ecosystem. Ardley will continue to support its current customer base while leveraging these newly combined resources to improve borrower engagement across the entire homeownership lifecycle.
