The upcoming 460,000-square-foot facility, located within the Rowen innovation district, is expected to generate a $5 billion economic impact. Designed with a digital-first mandate, the plant will utilize artificial intelligence and advanced automation to streamline the production of complex biologic medicines. Beyond the technical infrastructure, the project is projected to create 330 highly skilled permanent roles and support over 1,000 construction jobs.

During the dedication ceremony, officials unveiled Emmanuel Janssen Circle, a commemorative installation honoring the company’s founder. UCB CEO Jean-Christophe Tellier described the expansion as a vital step in strengthening supply chain resilience and furthering the company's commitment to patient care in the United States. State and federal leaders, including Governor Brian Kemp and U.S. Department of Commerce Under Secretary Jeffrey Kessler, attended the event, citing the facility as a cornerstone for Georgia’s growing life sciences sector. UCB, which has maintained a presence in the Atlanta area for over 30 years, plans to collaborate with local academic institutions to cultivate a specialized biomanufacturing workforce to support the site's future operations.
