The project aims to sustain national identity among those who left home for education or professional advancement. By hosting events featuring piñatas, stand-up comedy, and traditional masquerade performances, the brand seeks to foster community spaces for a population that often integrates deeply into their new host countries while retaining their heritage.

Imperial Launches Cultural Platform for Costa Ricans Abroad
With over 63,000 citizens now registered to vote from overseas, Imperial is launching the Es de Ticos platform to bridge the gap between Costa Rica and its diaspora. The initiative brings traditional cultural programming, including mascaradas and authentic dining, to expatriate communities in cities like Toronto and Medellín.

Demographic data underscores the scale of this migration. In the United States, for instance, the Pew Research Center reports that over half of Costa Rican residents have lived abroad for more than two decades, with 38% of those over 25 holding bachelor’s degrees. Fabian Loría, Brand Manager for Imperial, noted that the effort is designed to honor the persistent connection these individuals maintain with their roots, regardless of the physical distance from their home country.
