Uranium Energy Corp Recruits Security Veterans for Nuclear Expansion

Uranium Energy Corp has launched a National Security Advisory Council, bringing in two retired admirals and two former heads of the National Nuclear Security Administration. The move aims to bolster the company’s push into uranium conversion and position the firm as a primary supplier for U.S. defense and naval nuclear programs.

The newly formed council will be co-chaired by Tom D’Agostino and Admiral James F. Caldwell, both of whom bring deep experience in federal nuclear oversight. They are joined by Admiral William K. Lescher and Neile Miller. The initiative arrives as the NNSA actively seeks a stable, domestic supply of unobligated, U.S.-origin uranium to support military requirements, including the development of microreactors for military bases and the next generation of nuclear-powered warships.

CEO Amir Adnani stated the company is building an end-to-end American supply chain to meet this growing defense demand. The council’s guidance is intended to assist the firm’s subsidiary, United States Uranium Refining & Conversion Corp., in navigating the federal procurement landscape. Former Energy Secretary Spencer Abraham, who chairs the company's board, noted that domestic conversion is the critical link between raw material and the significant investments currently flowing into U.S. enrichment capacity.
