TuHURA Biosciences Secures Expanded Patent for VISTA Inhibitor TBS-2025
The United States Patent and Trademark Office has issued Patent No. 12,760,104 to Tampa-based TuHURA Biosciences, granting broad protection for its VISTA-inhibiting antibody, TBS-2025. The new intellectual property covers bispecific and multi-specific antibody configurations, extending the company’s reach into autoimmune diseases and infection treatments beyond oncology.

Dr. James Bianco, President and CEO of TuHURA, emphasized that the patent bolsters the company's VISTA franchise by enabling a wider array of molecular modifications. According to Bianco, the expanded scope is particularly relevant for addressing treatment failures in multiple myeloma and associated bone destruction, while simultaneously increasing the asset's utility for potential corporate collaborations. TuHURA is currently evaluating TBS-2025 in a Phase 1b clinical trial targeting a specific molecular subgroup of relapsed or refractory AML.
