Stout Bolsters Advisory Services Through Acquisition of Flightline AI

Chicago-based global advisory firm Stout has acquired agentic AI developer Flightline, formalizing a year-long collaboration aimed at integrating automated research and analysis into professional service workflows. The move seeks to augment human expertise by deploying AI agents to handle complex data processing while keeping final judgment in human hands.

Stout Bolsters Advisory Services Through Acquisition of Flightline AI

The integration follows twelve months of co-development where both firms tested AI-enabled workflows within actual client engagements. Flightline’s technology functions by breaking down complex advisory tasks into structured sequences, allowing the firm to scale its capacity for evidence-backed analysis. For Stout, this transition is particularly visible in its commercial diligence practice, which has leveraged over 1,000 buy-side engagements to refine the platform's utility.

Cory Thompson, Co-Chief Client Service Officer at Stout, noted that the investment targets both speed and quality, enabling teams to process larger datasets without sacrificing the human oversight essential for high-stakes financial advisory. While the AI agents perform the heavy lifting of research and information synthesis, Stout practitioners remain fully accountable for all advice provided. By bringing Flightline’s engineering team in-house, Stout intends to accelerate the development of a proprietary workbench that bridges the gap between raw data and actionable strategic insight.
