Fleetworthy Expands Automated Roadside Inspections to Five States

Fleetworthy is scaling its Expedited Inspection technology to California, Michigan, Vermont, and Maine, building on a successful pilot program in Nevada. The system automates the transfer of electronic driver records and vehicle data directly to enforcement officers, aiming to replace manual paperwork with digital, real-time reporting protocols.

Fleetworthy Expands Automated Roadside Inspections to Five States

The expansion allows the company to integrate its automated roadside solution into the Weigh Station Bypass network. By delivering a driver's Electronic Record of Duty Status directly to state troopers upon selection for inspection, the platform reduces typical stop times by roughly 15 minutes. According to Sgt. Scott Keane of the Nevada Highway Patrol, these reclaimed minutes allow officers to prioritize enforcement tasks while keeping freight moving on schedule.

Financial gains for operators are notable, as the American Transportation Research Institute estimates the marginal cost of operating a truck at $91.27 per hour. Saving a quarter-hour per inspection equates to roughly $22.82 in direct savings per stop, excluding the secondary benefits of improved driver morale and tighter delivery windows. To support this rollout, Fleetworthy has introduced Inspect Queue, a dashboard that enables officers to manage flagged vehicles across multiple devices simultaneously.

Currently compatible with Geotab and Platform Science electronic logging devices, the system is provided to state agencies at no cost to encourage adoption. While the service is live in five states, the company plans to integrate additional ELD providers and expand the geographic footprint further as the program scales.
