The bulk of the capital, totaling $17 million, is earmarked for Feeding America to bolster distribution networks across 250 food banks nationwide. A significant portion—over $13 million—will concentrate on Iowa, where a new model will link more than 100 local farmers directly with regional food banks. This shift allows producers to supply fresh goods systematically rather than relying on inconsistent donations.
Beyond institutional support, the Foundation is committing $1.5 million to The Farmlink Project. This partnership targets on-farm food recovery, aiming to redirect 6.4 million pounds of fresh produce to communities in need over the next three years. These logistics improvements are expected to support up to 60 farming operations across multiple states, ensuring that crops which might otherwise reach landfills are instead utilized for meal distribution.
