The equipment influx follows an August 2026 pact between NABEP and U.S. federal departments aimed at scaling Venezuelan oil extraction. With these additions, the company now claims the largest heavy-equipment fleet in the country, bolstered by recent acquisitions of 60 rigs, 30 steam boilers, and 70 pieces of heavy machinery. Operations are currently surging in the Orinoco Belt and Lake Maracaibo regions, where the firm controls rights to over 65 billion barrels of P1 reserves.

NABEP Deploys Heavy Rig Fleet to Revitalize Venezuelan Oil Fields
Eleven 550-horsepower workover rigs have arrived in Venezuela, marking the first time in over 15 years that new maintenance systems have entered the nation's oil fields. This deployment arrives alongside two 1,500-horsepower drilling units, signaling a rapid expansion of production capacity under the North American Blue Energy Partners banner.

CEO Alejandro Betancourt noted the equipment is central to the company’s objective of revitalizing the local economy. NABEP has already increased production from 18,000 to 200,000 barrels per day over the last two years, backed by $1 billion in internal investment. The company now employs 5,000 direct staff and supports 10,000 contractors, with a stated near-term goal of reaching 1 million barrels per day through a planned $100 billion infrastructure overhaul.
