Paradigm Therapeutics Earns Second Prix Galien Nomination for EB Therapy
For the second consecutive year, Mount Pleasant-based Paradigm Therapeutics has secured a finalist spot for the Prix Galien USA "Best Start-Up" award. The recognition highlights the company's progress with SD-101 (Zorblesia™), a topical treatment candidate designed to address skin lesions across all subtypes of the rare, debilitating condition Epidermolysis Bullosa.
CEO Robert Ryan stated that the nomination validates the company’s scientific approach and the team's commitment to providing a treatment option for pediatric and adult patients. SD-101 remains a frontrunner in the field, having already secured FDA Breakthrough Therapy, Rare Pediatric Disease, and Orphan Drug designations. Clinical trials involving 217 patients across the Simplex, Dystrophic, and Junctional subtypes indicate that the topical cream can be applied to the entire body, offering a potential solution where options have historically remained severely limited.
