VestGen Secures Growth Capital from Willow Tree for M&A Push

Two years after launching, Chicago-based VestGen Wealth Partners has secured an infusion of growth capital from Willow Tree Credit Partners. The move provides the wealth management firm with the financial runway to continue an aggressive acquisition strategy that has already brought 19 firms into its fold.

Since its debut in late 2024, VestGen has built a significant footprint in the Midwest, scaling its assets under management to $8.5 billion. CEO Jason Hanavan noted that the partnership with Willow Tree, led by founder Tim Lower, is specifically designed to sustain this momentum in an industry currently defined by rapid consolidation. The firm’s growth model centers on solving succession challenges for aging advisors while integrating new practices into its unified platform.

Beyond its core advisory business, VestGen has recently expanded its reach by launching VestGen Retirement Services, aiming to provide a more comprehensive suite of offerings for plan sponsors. Raymond James & Associates acted as the financial advisor for the transaction, with legal counsel provided by Benesch Friedlander Coplan & Aronoff for VestGen and White & Case for Willow Tree. This fresh capital marks a pivotal transition for the firm as it moves from its initial startup phase toward a more institutionalized scale.
