The platform, now available on the Apple App Store, guides children through a structured sequence—Breathe, Belong, Become—that integrates stories of African figures and kingdoms. Beyond morning sessions, the app provides tools for emotional regulation throughout the day and sleep stories rooted in the African diaspora. Children earn digital crowns based on real African history, a design choice intended to reinforce a sense of heritage rather than external achievement.
David and Tia Harley, both veterans in creative direction and business development, spent over a year testing the practice with their own children before the public release. They observed tangible shifts in their children’s academic engagement and emotional recovery after difficult moments. Their approach is supported by research, including findings in Science that suggest culturally grounded identity practices can measurably narrow the racial achievement gap for Black students.
