Holladay Distillery Celebrates 170 Years with Oldest Bourbon Release

Ten years of maturation inside iron-clad rickhouses in Weston, Missouri, have culminated in the oldest spirit ever produced by Holladay Distillery. To honor its 170th anniversary, the producer is launching the Ben Holladay 10 Year Bourbon, a limited-edition bottling that marks a decade of the distillery’s modern revival.

The new expression, distilled using the original Ben Holladay mash bill, will reach the public on October 17. Master Distiller Kyle Merklein hand-selected the barrels for this release, aiming to capture the specific character developed through long-term environmental interaction. Bottled at 111 proof, or 55.5% ABV, the liquid is designed to showcase depth and balance achieved only through a full decade of aging on-site.

This release aligns with the distillery’s broader historical milestone, as the operation approaches its official 170th anniversary on December 5. The project effectively mirrors the timeline of the distillery’s own modern bourbon renaissance, which also began ten years ago. Sales at the Weston facility start at 10:00 a.m. on the launch date, with availability restricted to one bottle per person while supplies last.
