The initiative arrives as industry data highlights a significant untapped market. With one in six people worldwide living with a significant disability, Travel Guard surveyed 889 individuals to identify primary pain points. The findings reveal that 79% of respondents prioritize reliable accessibility data during the planning phase, while 60% indicate they would travel more frequently if existing barriers were removed.

Travel Guard Launches Resource Hub for Accessible Tourism
Four in ten travelers with disabilities have abandoned a destination due to accessibility concerns, according to new data from Travel Guard. To bridge this information gap, the insurer has launched a dedicated digital hub providing guidance on transportation, lodging, and destination-specific infrastructure for travelers with diverse needs.
"We want to help travelers anticipate accessibility needs and navigate their journeys more comfortably," said Rhonda Sloan, CMO of Travel Guard North America. The new microsite offers a centralized collection of videos and practical tools covering mobility, vision, hearing, and cognitive requirements. By integrating these resources into the pre-trip planning process, the company aims to move beyond basic insurance coverage and address the logistical hurdles that currently prevent travelers from exploring with confidence.
