The potential outages are scheduled to begin Wednesday evening and may persist through Saturday morning. The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for parts of Kern County and a Fire Weather Watch covering a broad corridor from San Luis Obispo to Santa Barbara. The current impact list spans 29 counties and includes 5,500 customers enrolled in the Medical Baseline program, as well as six Tribal governments.

PG&E is preparing to deploy more than 40 Community Resource Centers across 23 counties to provide essential services, including air conditioning, device charging, and bottled water. Residents are encouraged to verify their address at the company's outage portal or contact 211 for assistance with medical or disability-related needs. These precautionary measures aim to mitigate wildfire risks, though the final decision to de-energize lines depends on real-time weather observations over the next 48 hours.
