The newly acquired sites are located in Chicago, Cicero, Elgin, and Matteson. CEO Geoff Karas noted that the company has spent years preparing for this entry, viewing the local customer loyalty built by Sparkle Express as a foundation for implementing El’s signature membership-driven model. The transition will involve upgrading these facilities to match the brand’s focus on high-speed service, premium wash quality, and complimentary amenities.

El Car Wash Enters Chicago Market with Four-Site Acquisition
Miami-based El Car Wash has officially entered the Chicago market by acquiring four Sparkle Express Car Wash locations. This initial move serves as the anchor for an aggressive regional strategy, with the company aiming to establish a 50-site footprint across the Chicagoland area through new construction and further acquisitions.
This expansion follows a period of rapid growth for the company, which now operates 110 locations and serves nearly 600,000 members across the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Midwest. Beyond the immediate integration of the Sparkle sites, El Car Wash has already secured development entitlements in suburbs including Lyons, Lake in the Hills, and Downers Grove. The company’s broader Midwest strategy also includes a growing presence in Metro Detroit, where it currently operates eight sites with ten additional locations planned for the coming year.
