Malaysia Launches Global Campaign for Sarawak Pepper
The Malaysian Pepper Board has unveiled an international initiative to elevate the profile of its Geographical Indication-certified Sarawak Pepper. By blending digital storytelling with direct industry engagement, the campaign aims to satisfy rising global demand for traceable, premium spices while highlighting the heritage of Borneo’s traditional farming communities.

Vincent Sawat, Director General of the Malaysian Pepper Board, noted that the project is designed to humanize the supply chain by showcasing the dedication of local producers. Beyond marketing, the board continues to facilitate technology transfers and research partnerships, such as a recent memorandum of understanding with Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad. These efforts are intended to secure the industry’s long-term competitiveness by balancing traditional cultivation knowledge with modern quality assurance standards.
