Opening October 29 and running through December 6, the exhibition documents the artistic intensity of Anderson’s seminal project. Fincher utilized four Leica cameras to navigate the set, balancing the need for candid, intimate shots with the requirement to remain unobtrusive during the performance film’s production. The resulting prints, ranging from vintage originals to modern reproductions, provide a rare look at the collaboration between Anderson and her performers.

Leica Gallery Unveils Rare Laurie Anderson Behind-the-Scenes Photos
Four decades after the premiere of Laurie Anderson’s concert film Home of the Brave, a new exhibition at Leica Gallery New York pulls back the curtain on its production. Photographer Les Fincher, who held exclusive access to the 1986 set, debuts a collection of previously unseen images captured on Leica film cameras.

To mark the 40th anniversary of the film and its accompanying album, the gallery will host an opening reception on October 29 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. On November 12 at 6:30 PM, Fincher will conduct a gallery talk to discuss his technical approach and his experience documenting this pivotal chapter in Anderson's career. Guests are required to RSVP via Eventbrite for both events at the Meatpacking District location.
