Reolink Debuts Home Hub 2 with On-Device AI and Local Storage

Security brand Reolink has released its Home Hub 2, a centralized management system designed to eliminate cloud dependency. Unveiled at IFA 2026 and priced at $199.99, the device allows users to manage up to eight cameras while utilizing on-device AI to search through locally stored video footage via simple keywords.

The Home Hub 2 functions as a private control center for the Reolink ecosystem, bypassing monthly subscription fees by moving storage and processing to the user's home. Powered by the ReoNeura AI engine, the hub supports expandable storage through a 2.5-inch SATA slot and a microSD slot capable of handling up to 1TB. This hardware configuration ensures that all recordings remain encrypted and accessible even during internet outages, as the hub establishes its own local network for connected devices.

Beyond storage, the device introduces advanced monitoring features including Cross-Camera Tracking, which synthesizes movement data across multiple units into a single timeline. The system supports a variety of camera types—including PoE, plug-in Wi-Fi, and battery models—at resolutions up to 16MP. A forthcoming firmware update scheduled for December 2026 is set to expand these capabilities further, enabling custom AI training and direct alert integrations for platforms like Discord, Telegram, and Slack. Users can manage the entire setup through the Reolink App, which provides a centralized alarm interface and detailed security summaries.
