Almaty Hosts Global Tennis Summit as Kazakhstan Claims Leadership Role
For the first time in history, Central Asia became the epicenter of the sport as 262 delegates from 137 nations gathered in Almaty for the World Tennis General Assembly. The four-day summit, concluding October 13, served as a strategic crossroads for shaping the future of global tennis infrastructure and development.

Recognition for local efforts followed, as Bulat Utemuratov, President of the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation and Vice President of the international body, received the Award for Services to the Game. This accolade coincided with the International Tennis Federation granting a Gold-level status to Kazakhstan’s coach education system. These milestones underscore the country's transformation into a central hub for the sport, moving beyond mere hosting duties to establishing benchmarks in professional training and infrastructure standards that the international community now seeks to emulate.
