Caterpillar Executive Denise Johnson to Retire After 25 Years

Johnson joined the firm in 2011 and has directed the resource industries segment since 2016. She will transition into an advisory role to assist with the handover before officially retiring early next year. Her division remains a central pillar of the company's financial performance, contributing over $8.4 billion to the $38 billion in revenue reported during the first half of this year.

Derrick York, currently the president of Solar Turbines, brings a decade of company experience to the new role. Since 2023, he has managed the global unit focused on gas turbines and compressors for the power generation and oil-and-gas sectors. His appointment follows a consistent internal leadership track, as he steps into a position responsible for one of Caterpillar’s most substantial revenue drivers.
