GTCR Injects $200 Million Into Sophos Through Debt Financing
Private equity firm GTCR has spearheaded a $200 million second lien term loan for Sophos, the cybersecurity firm currently backed by Thoma Bravo. This capital injection arrives as Sophos undergoes a broader refinancing effort of its existing $2.45 billion first lien debt, marking a strategic shift in the company's financial structure.
For GTCR, this investment marks a milestone for its newly launched Capital Solutions Fund. Jason Prager, a Managing Director at the firm, noted that the deal capitalized on an existing relationship with Thoma Bravo, allowing for a rapid execution of the loan. Erwin Mock, head of capital markets at Thoma Bravo, credited the collaboration to GTCR’s sector-specific expertise, which helped streamline the refinancing process as it evolved.
