Sherritt International Secures U.S. License for Cuban Fuel Shipments

The U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control issued the permit, authorizing the purchase, shipping, and banking services required for the Moa joint venture. Sherritt expects the inaugural fuel shipment to depart during the fourth quarter. While this license addresses critical energy requirements, the company confirmed that mining and processing activities remain suspended while it pursues further regulatory clearances. The negotiations for the fuel license were conducted alongside Gillon Capital, which is currently evaluating a potential acquisition of a controlling stake in the Canadian firm.
