Conducted between October 9 and 13, the poll of 2,545 adults shows that only 28% of respondents feel confident that Trump would concede a defeat. Half of those surveyed stated they were "not at all" confident in his willingness to accept a negative outcome. While Democratic and independent voters drive these numbers, 36% of Republicans also expressed doubts about their party leader's intentions.

Poll: 70% of Voters Doubt Trump Will Accept Midterm Results
Seven in 10 Americans believe Donald Trump would refuse to accept the results of next month's midterm elections if Republicans suffer significant losses. The Washington Post-ABC News-Ipsos survey reveals a deep skepticism regarding the former president’s commitment to democratic norms as the country approaches a pivotal vote.

Confidence in the electoral process remains higher than confidence in the former president. Roughly 60% of respondents trust that the midterms will be conducted fairly, and 65% believe votes will be counted accurately. In response to the findings, Senator Bernie Sanders urged voters to head to the polls, framing the election as a necessary stand against authoritarianism. Democrats currently hold an 8-point lead in congressional race polling, though Trump continues to campaign despite economic headwinds and a record of military engagement that has drawn sharp criticism.
