Snap-On Shares Slide as Quarterly Results Miss Market Expectations

A nearly 10% drop in premarket trading greeted Snap-On shareholders Thursday after the tool manufacturer reported third-quarter earnings and revenue that failed to meet analyst projections. The Kenosha-based company saw its stock dip to $333, signaling investor concern over the widening gap between performance and Wall Street’s anticipated targets.

The company reported a profit of $243 million, or $4.64 per share, for the period ending Oct. 3. This result represents a notable decline from the $265.4 million, or $5.02 per share, recorded during the same timeframe last year. Analysts surveyed by FactSet had set an earnings expectation of $4.93 per share, leaving the company significantly behind the curve.

Revenue figures mirrored this downward trend, settling at $1.18 billion compared to the $1.24 billion estimate projected by Wall Street. Despite the shortfall, the manufacturer maintains that its core business remains resilient amid broader economic uncertainty. Management plans to pivot toward expanding its footprint beyond the traditional automotive-repair sector and into adjacent markets. Looking toward 2026, the company has forecasted capital expenditures of $100 million, building upon the $69 million invested during the first nine months of the current year.
