Daytona reaches unicorn status with $60 million Series B

With a fresh $60 million infusion led by FirstMark Growth, the New York-based startup Daytona has officially crossed the $1 billion valuation threshold. The three-year-old company is positioning itself to lead the specialized infrastructure market for autonomous AI agents, backed by a high-profile roster of industry veterans.

Daytona reaches unicorn status with $60 million Series B

The Series B round brings Daytona’s total funding to $91 million. Beyond FirstMark, which previously led the company’s $24 million Series A, the list of investors reads like a Silicon Valley directory. Participants include Stripe’s Patrick Collison, Shopify’s Tobi Lütke, Perplexity’s Aravind Srinivas, Zoom’s Eric Yuan, Datadog’s Olivier Pomel, and Quora’s Adam D’Angelo. Corporate venture arms from Qualcomm, Samsung, and Okta also joined the round.

Founder Ivan Burazin argues that traditional cloud architecture fails to accommodate the erratic, stateful nature of modern AI agents. Unlike long-lived software services, agents frequently trigger thousands of unplanned, ephemeral tasks. Daytona’s platform addresses this by providing isolated, sandboxed environments—complete with access to Linux, Windows, macOS, and GPU resources—effectively granting each agent its own dedicated computing infrastructure.
