A staggering 94 percent drop in net profit has hit Fujiya Co. as the Japanese confectioner reported just 56 million yen for the nine-month period ending September 30. Fujiya Co. Profits Plummet to 56 Million Yen Amid Nine-Month Slump

Despite the collapse in profitability, the company managed to grow its top-line revenue to 87.66 billion yen, up from 83.97 billion yen a year ago. However, the increased sales failed to offset rising costs, pushing the firm into an operating loss of 113 million yen, a stark reversal from the 1.07 billion yen operating profit achieved in 2025.

Pretax profit also took a significant hit, falling to 750 million yen from 1.90 billion yen. Earnings per share have consequently dropped to 2.20 yen, down from 35.21 yen in the previous year. These figures reflect results prepared under Japanese accounting standards, highlighting a difficult fiscal stretch for the manufacturer.
