Anthropic IPO Plans Fuel Tech Rally as Market Doubts AI Bubble

Tech investors brushed aside recessionary anxieties this week, pushing valuations higher as Anthropic moved to launch a massive initial public offering. The AI developer’s filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission marks a potential turning point for the sector, signaling confidence despite warnings of a cooling artificial intelligence market.

Anthropic IPO Plans Fuel Tech Rally as Market Doubts AI Bubble

Anthropic intends to go public the week of November 16, aiming to raise $100 billion. Analysts estimate the company could command a valuation between $1.5 trillion and $2 trillion. J.D. Joyce, president of Houston-based Joyce Wealth Management, rejected the notion that the sector is currently in a bubble, arguing that modern AI firms possess a level of fundamental quality absent during the dotcom era.

Market performance remained uneven despite the overall optimism. Meta Platforms shares dipped following an announcement that the company plans to raise $95 billion through successive stock offerings to fund its expanding AI infrastructure. Meanwhile, CoreWeave saw its stock price climb, ignoring skepticism from SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, who recently likened specialized cloud providers to vulnerable prey in a consolidating market. In a separate move, Microsoft initiated a voluntary buyout program affecting approximately 60,000 employees across its global operations, including the United States.
