Founded in 2024, Conductor built its reputation on multi-agent systems that allow engineers to manage complex software projects through compartmentalized, parallel workspaces. Unlike proprietary-heavy competitors, the platform utilizes agents from major labs like OpenAI and Anthropic to perform tasks across cloud and local environments. Holtz confirmed that while core features will remain active until early next year, the company’s cloud service is scheduled to shut down on November 20, at which point user data will be purged.

Meta snaps up AI startup Conductor to bolster coding agents
“I have big news: Conductor is joining Meta,” announced CEO Charlie Holtz this Wednesday. The startup, which only debuted its agentic software platform last summer, will fold its technology into Meta’s internal labs as the tech giant accelerates its push to dominate the automated programming market.

Meta confirmed the deal without disclosing financial terms or long-term roadmap specifics. Holtz intends to transition into Meta’s Superintelligence Labs, citing the team's exceptional talent density. This move follows Meta’s aggressive expansion into the coding space, including the August launch of its Muse Code agent. With over 10 million users now interacting with its various AI tools, Meta continues to integrate smaller, high-growth platforms like Conductor to close the gap on rival AI developers.
