Meta’s new Spaces feature gives users a dedicated place to work with a Muse agent on projects such as trip planning, recipe collecting and event tracking. The custom conversations appear in the interface sidebar and are designed to keep each goal organized in its own tab.
Users can describe an idea in chat, and Muse can build a corresponding tracker, planner or project board, Meta said. The company’s examples include a holiday gift tracker, wedding planner and DIY project space. Meta also says Spaces can connect to third-party apps and update in the background with information such as concert dates, price changes or savings progress.
On Friday, Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg posted on X that he had been trying out Spaces. He said he had made a BBQ game, an event tracker and a home control dashboard, adding that he was excited to see what users build.
Spaces is the second Muse feature Meta has introduced in the past week. On Thursday, the company announced Muse Voice, which lets users video chat with an agent and give it spoken commands. Meta’s agents launched in recent months and have received a relatively warm reception. During an October earnings call, Zuckerberg said they had 10 million users in the U.S. and Canada, less than two months after their debut.
Meta is developing its agent experience as it competes with other AI assistants presented with cartoon-style personas, including OpenAI’s dots and SpaceXAI’s Grokbot.
