D-Wave investors have until Dec. 15 to seek lead plaintiff role
Investors who bought or acquired D-Wave Quantum securities from Feb. 26 through Aug. 25, 2026, have until Dec. 15 to seek appointment as lead plaintiff in a securities class action. The case, Fessler v. D-Wave Quantum Inc., No. 5:26-cv-11953, was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. The allegations have not been established in court. The complaint says D-Wave and its defendants overstated the company’s prospects and failed to disclose material information, creating a risk of harm to its business and reputation.
The filing cites two share-price declines. After D-Wave reported second-quarter 2026 results on Aug. 6 that missed analysts’ revenue expectations, the stock fell $1.99, or 9.28%, to close at $19.41. On Aug. 25, the company announced that its chief financial officer would resign effective Sept. 2. The stock fell $1.84, or 9.51%, closing at $17.52 on Aug. 26.
Investors may seek lead plaintiff status through Kessler Topaz Meltzer & Check, LLP or other counsel, or take no action and remain absent class members. A lead plaintiff helps direct the case and selects counsel, subject to court approval. The decision to serve as lead plaintiff does not affect an investor’s ability to share in a recovery, the firm said.
Kessler Topaz Meltzer & Check said investors can contact the firm for a free case evaluation. The firm says representation is on a contingency-fee basis, with no cost or obligation to speak with an attorney. The complaint was not filed by the firm.
