The Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) and Vehicle-to-Building (V2B) markets have historically struggled under the weight of expensive hardware, with conventional charging connectors often exceeding $100,000. Andromeda Power’s proprietary MotorTransformer™ technology bypasses this by utilizing an electric vehicle’s existing traction motor as a galvanically isolated transformer. This approach requires no additional hardware or vehicle weight, allowing for 133 kW bidirectional AC operation using current infrastructure.
Verdek, which brings 18 years of deployment experience to the collaboration, plans to integrate this technology into its existing commercial fleet and building networks. The system achieves a 97.9% round-trip efficiency, with an onboard Bill of Materials of approximately $1,500. Guy Mannino, CEO of Verdek, stated that the platform transforms idle vehicle batteries into functional energy assets, shifting the industry from small-scale pilots to full-scale commercial utility.
