Headquartered in Berlin, Exolaunch serves as a one-stop-shop for satellite operators, handling everything from launch capacity procurement to mission planning and orbital integration. The firm has established a robust track record through its presence on every SpaceX Transporter and Bandwagon rideshare mission since 2020. Beyond rideshare services, the company is diversifying its portfolio by securing its own dedicated Falcon 9 missions, dubbed Exo-1 and Exo-2, slated for 2027 and 2028.

EQT acquires German space logistics firm Exolaunch
With over 790 satellites deployed across 47 missions, German space services provider Exolaunch has reached a definitive agreement to be acquired by private equity firm EQT. The deal marks EQT’s inaugural entry into the space sector, aiming to scale the company’s mission management and deployment hardware capabilities globally.

EQT plans to leverage its industrial expertise to accelerate Exolaunch’s international expansion and product development. Nils Ketter, a partner at EQT, noted that the acquisition addresses critical pain points for both launch vehicle providers and satellite operators. For founder Dmitriy Sternharz, who launched the company based on research from the Technical University of Berlin, the transition to new ownership provides the capital necessary to capitalize on rising demand for orbital infrastructure. Current CEO Dr. Robert Sproles intends to use this backing to evolve the firm from a deployment specialist into a broader backbone for the global launch ecosystem. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.
