The brand’s rapid growth highlights a shifting demand in the midscale and economy sectors, where independent hoteliers are increasingly seeking the backing of a global group without sacrificing their property’s unique identity. By joining the Handwritten network, these owners retain their hotel’s individual character while gaining access to Accor’s distribution, loyalty programs, and technical infrastructure.

Accor’s Handwritten Collection Hits 50-Hotel Milestone
Launched by Accor just three years ago, the Handwritten Collection has reached its 50th property, spanning 20 countries. The brand, which focuses on bespoke, story-driven hospitality rather than standardized corporate aesthetics, currently has an additional 50 hotels in development as it aggressively expands its global footprint.
Recent additions to the portfolio include the Hotel Rathauspark in Vienna, located in a building once home to writer Stefan Zweig, and the Château de Mazan in France. Looking ahead, the brand is preparing for a significant entry into the U.S. market with the Treasure Island TI Las Vegas, as well as upcoming debuts in the United Kingdom and Indonesia. According to Camil Yazbeck, Accor’s Global Chief Development Officer, the pipeline remains robust, driven by partners who want to preserve their heritage while securing commercial performance through a global platform.
