Kelsey Grammer is stepping into a new role as host and executive producer of The Great American Journey, a series launching August 22 on NBC. Developed to mark the nation’s 250th anniversary, the program explores the figures and historical milestones that have defined the United States over the last two and a half centuries.

Grammer, a veteran actor recognized for his work on Cheers and Frasier, brings three decades of industry experience to the project. Frank Biancuzzo, president of HMPG, noted that the production focuses on authentic storytelling to resonate with a broad audience. The show stands as part of a larger portfolio for Hearst, which currently distributes content across 100 countries.
