Adobe Deploys AI Agents Across Creative Cloud Suite

Adobe is integrating a generative AI agent directly into its flagship creative applications, aiming to automate complex production workflows. By allowing users to issue natural language commands, the assistant handles routine tasks like video sorting, background removal, and brand asset updates across Photoshop, Premiere, and Illustrator.

The new agent functions as an internal task manager, executing multi-step processes that previously required manual intervention. In Premiere, it can assemble raw footage into a preliminary cut or organize video clips; in Photoshop, it manages asset resizing and background swaps. These features extend to InDesign, where the assistant can propagate brand-wide layout updates automatically.

To centralize these workflows, Adobe is previewing a unified Firefly studio. This environment allows creators to store and reuse specific characters, locations, and objects throughout the production lifecycle. The ecosystem further integrates with external platforms like ChatGPT, Claude, and Slack, facilitating a broader range of collaborative tasks. David Wadhwani, head of Adobe's Creativity and Productivity division, noted that these tools allow professionals to focus on artistic vision and decision-making while the software manages execution. The assistant is currently in public beta for Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Frame.io, with additional capabilities for After Effects moving into private testing.
